Just call her the Teen Athlete Hype (Wo)man. She’s here to raise the roof for youth and teen athletes who are facing a sports injury by empowering them with the support and clarity they really need from a physical therapist. When it comes to sports, no one has time to sit on the sidelines.
After facing many injuries during her tennis career, being told she would never play competitive sports again, undergoing multiple surgeries as a D1 college athlete at Indiana University, and spending way too much time on the sidelines, Kayla knows there's a better way to serve our young athletes.
It's why she has dedicated her entire career to studying sports rehab as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist, been invited to speak both nationally and internationally at sports medicine conferences, and started her own practice dedicated to sports rehab and injury prevention education in the Chicagoland area. Kayla has also completed training to receive her FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, an educational course on the management and prevention of soccer related injuries.
So many athletes think that when they have a sports injury they just need to take time off or do general exercises and it'll just go away on its own. But what Kayla knows and believes is that athletes deserve sports-specific care and a clear game plan that takes into account the unique human beings that they are and the unique demands of the sports they play.
